Because of this, at Mardi Himal’s base, the complete trail lets you go through various small winding paths and explore the beauties of rhododendron forests and other aspects of Mother Nature. The best part of your trek to the Mardi Himal region is that you have to climb through green hilly regions to reach an elevation of 3,300 meters.

Later on, you will find abrupt changes in the landscape while you enter the high mountain landscape, while the scope to enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna South, Mardi Himal, Machapuchre and Hiunchuli, and so on is enough to entice you to experience Mardi Himal trekking at least for once in your life. Especially, our trekking team sets up a low camp to provide you with stunning views of Mount Machhapuchhre from almost every point in Nepal.

Other than this, you will get sunset and sunrise views. On the other side, by going ahead from the high camp i.e. at 3580 meters, you may climb to the base camp of Mardi Himal Mountain to get close-up yet spectacular views of the complete Annapurna mountain range. Even though the trek involves walking for long hours, you may not face difficulties, as our team arranges your stay at various homestay facilities and guesthouses across the complete trekking route.

Trip Note

Accommodation

All the accommodation as per the itinerary is included in the package cost. Halesi Treks have chosen the 2/3 star hotel in the cities for your comfort and safety. The hotels can be upgraded to more deluxe ones upon your request. While trekking in the Mountains, our guides will choose the best available lodge in the village from their past experience. As some villages have the limited number of lodges, in peak seasons like Spring and Autumn. A comfortable two-man tent with a mattress and four seasons sleeping bag will be provided for the camping trek. Our crew will try to set the camp in a scenic place. All the hotel and camping accommodations are on twin sharing basis unless you are of a different gender.

Meals

Nepal is such an easy place to get several vegetarian options so no worries if you are a vegetarian or non-vegetarian. You can enjoy typical Nepali food as well as continental, Italian, Indian, and Tibetan. Freshly cooked and hygienic dinner and breakfast are served at the camp and lunch will be served on the way to the next destination which will be prepared by our own chef. Only breakfast is served in Kathmandu whilst farewell dinner on the eve of your international departure is served from our side. All the meals (B/L/D) are on a full-board basis during the trek.

Trekking Crew

An experienced and licensed Guide and necessary porters will assist you during the trek. In a group with more than 8 clients, 2 guides will be provided for the betterment of service. In a teahouse trek, generally, one porter is provided for every two clients who carry between 15 to 18 kg. However, on a camping journey, more porters are required. All the camping types of equipment such as kitchen, dining, dome, and toilet tents, kitchen equipment, fuel, and all consumable goods have to be carried from Kathmandu which needs more manpower. All of our guides and porters are fully insured so you don't have to worry about them in case of emergency. Our team believes that our customer care is the first priority.

Physical Fitness and Experience

Mardi Himal Trek is an easy trek that is fit for those who have the ability to walk 5-6 hours of walking uphill and downhill in a day carrying the personal day pack. Some days are longer with 7- 8 hours of walking as well. Mardi Himal Trek is a low-altitude trek that demands less physical, however having strong determination, a positive vibe, and average physical fitness can complete this trek. Doing some physical exercise a few weeks prior to the trip is better but technical skill is not required for this trek. If you are taking medicine for heart, lung, or blood diseases, please kindly consult your doctor and inform Halesi Treks.

Travel Insurance

This is a real adventure in high altitude so obtaining travel insurance is always a good idea for your safety and is highly recommended too. Your travel insurance policy should cover helicopter evacuation and medical expenses in an emergency. There is not any Nepalese insurance company to sell travel insurance policies so you better buy a good one from home. There are some insurance policies that cover only low altitudes below 4000 mt. and some only high altitudes above 4000 mt. So before you purchase it, please double-check the policy what it covers and where are you going.

Best Seasons

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for Mardi Himal Trek. Where normally days are sunny, the temperature is perfect, the sky is clear and Mountain remains crystal. This trek can be done in Monsoon (June to August ) but you should not expect the great weather and Mountain view.  You can do it in Winter (December to February) if you are used to extremely cold temperatures.

Ground Transportation

Highway in Nepal is safe, however, sometimes transport can be halted due to landslides, strikes, or by political unrest. Add a cushion of a few extra days in your onward travel schedule, advised as a margin of safety for your international flight from Nepal. We, therefore, advise that you schedule at least an extra day's cushion in your itinerary to avoid conflicts with international flights out of Nepal. In that case, Halesi Treks can arrange activities with your additional days in Kathmandu before your flight home.

Amazing Experience in Mardi Himal Trek and Chitwan Safaris

    Rating: March 26,2023

I went climbing the Mardi Himal trek as my first experience of properly climbing a mountain and it was awesome! The trek offered beautiful views along the way as well as the top. A truly amazing lifetime experience! And honestly makes me wanna explore more treks.

I also went for Chitwan Jeep and river safaris after the climb. We were lucky we got to see many animals in their natural habitat, such as wild rhinos, bears, deer, and crocodiles. It was a great experience too!

Props to Halesi Treks as our local guide for arranging both trips and assistance during the trip. The team from Halesi are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable in facing the terrain in the mountain. Looking forward to another trip and thank you!

  • Amazing experience of Mardi Himal Trek!

Amazing experience of Mardi Himal Trek!

    Rating: March 24,2023

This was actually my very first experience to climb a mountain.
Previously I was only go one-day-trekking in Indonesia, but then I was doing mountain trekking for 5 straight days, moreover it was in Nepal!

Mardi Himal is really a hidden treasure. It is a less popular trekking route compared to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) or Annapurna Circuit, but it didn't disappoint at all.
You can get views without the crowds. Stunning forests and rhododendron blooming along the way, and expect magnificent views of the Annapurna Mountain Range, including the fishtail of Macchapucchre peak!

Even more unforgettable were all the wonderful guides that helped make this experience come to life.
Special shoutout to HALESI TREKS who did very well in guiding us. With Dai (Brother) Man Kumar as the guide and two porters (Dai Jangbu & Yam), we got very enjoyable journey. They were so nice and helpful and always ready to assist us. They waited patiently when we needed to stop to catch our breath, and they were in tune with our needs the entire time.

Doing the Mardi Himal Trek can be a challenge, but I'm sure everybody can do it as long as you are fit enough. The difficulty level is easy to moderate, so it's a beginner-friendly trek route.
Even some elderly people went there, so you can do it too!
3,5 days going up and 1,5 days going down was not difficult compared to the worthy experience and majestic views.
    I truly recommend it!

  • Mardi Himal Trek

    Mardi Himal Trek

Our long-term plan with my wife was to visit Himalaya. I got a reference to Halesi Treks from my brother’s friends, who had experience with them.

We started talking with Man Kumar Tamang one year in advance. Man Kumar was very communicative and help us to choose the right trek for us based on our expectation. Backward I can confirm, that it was a really good choice. We preferred trek, which is not so popular and frequently visits, but still, you have a chance to see the biggest mountains (we know, we do not want visit EBC in High season). Our choice was Mardi Himal Trek in Annapurna Conservation Area. An advantage of this trek is that the trail is up on the ridge compare to ABC which leads the valley and at that time is overcrowded.

After landing in Kathmandu Man Kumar personally invited us together with our Guide Tek Tamang. After two days spent in Kathmandu, we moved to Pokhara and our trek starts. We spent a beautiful 10 days in the mountains with sunny weather and breathtaking views.
The whole time our Guide Tek Tamang took care about us and provided us with perfect service. It was a really nice holiday with Halesi Treks. We can strongly recommend this company.
